Anthony Velazquez

Vice President of Operations, Consulting and Investigations

Anthony Velazquez serves as the Vice President of Operations of Consulting and Investigations. He is charged with managing risk mitigation for field operations and overseeing global investigations as well as threat and crisis management for domestic and international clients. He brings over 33 years of dedicated government service with special expertise in criminal investigations, cargo theft, loss prevention, transnational organized crime, counterterrorism, crisis management, and undercover operations. After 24 years with the FBI, Velazquez retired to join U.S. Security Associates.

During his career with the FBI, Velazquez served in a variety of capacities, including certified Adjunct Professor for the FBI where he used his years of expertise in criminal investigations to lead a diverse range of courses. In his most recent role with the bureau he served as a Special Agent in the Miami Division where he specialized in cargo theft, supply-chain security, organized criminal activities, counterterrorism, fraud, and kidnapping investigations.

Velazquez has extensive experience in undercover operations, hostage/crisis negotiations, and mitigating criminal and terrorist threats both domestically and internationally. During his tenure with the FBI he was deployed to address several, high-profile criminal investigations with successful resolutions. These investigations include the 2001 rescue of a five-year-old girl kidnapped in Haiti, the 2003 release of a U.S. Diplomat in Guyana, and in 2010, the investigation of the murder of a U.S. Peace Corps volunteer in Lesotho. In addition to resolving criminal violations, Velazquez has served to protect U.S. citizens during international events. He provided special protection and investigative services during the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City, the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa, and the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil. In a previous role with the FBI, he served as Assistant Legal Attaché in South Africa. In that capacity he focused on disrupting terrorist threats and criminal violations including kidnappings, fraud, money laundering, and murders of U.S. citizens.

Velazquez honorably served in the U.S. Air Force for eight years. He holds a B.S. in Electronics Systems Management from Southern Illinois University and a M.A. in National Security Strategic Studies from the U.S. Naval War College.
