Enterprises today are under tremendous pressure to protect more for less. As they seek to reduce the expenses, inevitably it becomes an exercise in reducing the cost of uniformed protection either through staff reductions or reduced wages. While this approach may cover the less portion of today’s mandate, it does not protect more. It does not address security effectiveness. Some organizations attempt to compensate through the adoption of security technology which is often done in a vacuum without a complete understanding of how physical/technology assets can combine to deliver more bang for the buck. This presentation illustrates how careful analysis can lead to cost reduction through process improvement, balancing human and technical security assets.
