Andrews International Strengthens Company Leadership with Corporate Security and Enterprise Risk Mitigation Expert Ed Palumbo

Edmund L. Palumbo to lead The Andrews International Northern California/Pacific NW U.S. Region

Los Angeles, Calif. (December 20, 2011)—Andrews International (AI), a full service provider of security and risk mitigation services, announces the addition of Edmund L. Palumbo to the company's management team. As senior vice president of operations and business development for the Northern California Region of the company, Palumbo will report directly to Randy Andrews, Chief Executive Officer of Andrews International, and will be based in the company's San Francisco/Bay Area operating location.

Palumbo has more than two decades of experience in security leadership positions, including global corporate security management, threat/risk assessment, security technology deployment, investigations and supply chain security. His experience as a security leader in the high-tech sector includes global security management positions at several prominent technology corporations.

Most recently, as senior manager for global safety, security and business resiliency for CISCO, Palumbo implemented security and business continuity programs across approximately 250 locations, as well as provided global leadership for risk assessment and emergency preparedness. As global security services manager for Hewlett Packard (HP), Palumbo devised and administered leadership protection programs, threat/risk assessment and travel safety, and also provided extensive program and strategy analysis for security programs throughout the India region, focusing on policy development for emergency and crisis management, risk mitigation and business continuity.

In addition to corporate security experience, Palumbo has extensive law enforcement and investigative experience as a former detective, law enforcement instructor, and special services liaison. As a member of the Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI) national counter-terrorism task force, he created an intelligence consortium for Asian organized crime that coordinated more than forty law enforcement agencies at local, state and federal levels. He also served as an intelligence liaison with the U.S. Secret Service, FBI and Security Planning Unit when the City of San Diego hosted the Republican National Convention.

Palumbo is a distinguished graduate of Webster University with a Master of Arts in Business and Organizational Security Management, and also holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Fairfield University.

Palumbo is a member of American Society for Industrial Security (ASIS); High Tech Crime Investigators Association; Association of Threat Assessment Professionals; and (formerly) a member of the Executive Board, FBI/DHS Infragard (San Diego).
